The Wright Cause Incorporated promotes educational and social welfare collectively. The goals are to enhance personal growth, econonic advancement and community development.
The organization promotes literacy via "read out loud book clubs" at educational institutions; day care facilities, schools, senior citizen and youth community centers. To accomplish our objective toward establishing the desire for reading, book distributions are an imperative entity. In additon, our Artistic Expressions Workshops engage participants with reading, writing and expressing creativity. Their authored works are featured in our newsletters.
Literacy is an indispensable element of communication.
An array of social, economic and educational workshops, seminars and presentations are hosted to create and bring forth an awareness toward self sustainment.
History
The organization commenced 1998, thus came about the organizations' slogan, (TO BE HEALTHY, YOU CAN NOT BE HUNGRY) stemming from the establishment of support from a business in the healthcare industry. Livonia Pharmacy, which was located in the East New York community of Brooklyn, New York. The owner of the Pharmacy and The Administration of Thomas Jefferson , a neighboring High School embraced the efforts of the organization, permitting use of each facility as sites to host educational and informative workshops, distribute food, pamper packages and to utilize space both entities were instrumental as The Wright Cause commenced to work in the community.
